Discovering I Giganti
I Giganti Line | Giganti is a flagship for Contini 1898. Its three wines are as precious as the treasures linked to the past of our land, a past as mysterious as the statues of giants that have emerged from the folds of time to remind us of the value of our territory.
The line is a tribute to the statues known as "I Giganti" which have come to light since the 1970s in the archaeological area of Mont'e Prama, located just 2 km from the Cabras wetlands. It was farmers, intent on cultivating the fields with their ploughs, who unearthed the precious treasures guarded by the past, bequeathing us with a heritage of inestimable importance.
The sandstone statues were named the Giants due to their considerable size. They represent valiant warriors, a symbol of strength and courage. Once the Giants were imposing figures in the necropolis of Mont'e Prama. Where funerary rites were celebrated for people who were most likely heroes, worthy of being represented and remembered through time. Today the Giants appear as incomplete and fragmented, much like their mysterious past which has yet to be reconstructed.

Our wines in the I Giganti line are born from the vineyards located in this territory rich in history and caressed by the sea breeze. They are wines born from the earth, the sea, salt and sun, with exuberant aromas and deep flavours.

A Red Tharros IGT (Protected Geographical Indication) produced from Nieddera vines. A ruby red wine with great clarity and strong character, but at the same time elegant and refined. Its intense and unmistakable aroma gives sensations of red and black berries to envelop the senses.

I Giganti Bianco, born from the union of Vermentino and Vernaccia, is a wine with a straw yellow colour, rich in beautiful golden notes. Characterised by excellent intensity and finesse, followed by robust notes of white spiciness and Mediterranean scrub. Particularly appreciated for its freshness and drinkability.

I Giganti Rosa, born from the combination of Nieddera and Cannonau. With a radiant appearance, a soft and elegant pink with peach reflections. Its delicate and fruity aroma brings with it a wave of fresh rose with citrus touches. Its flavour fills the palate with freshness.
